We provide educational Know-Your-Rights workshops and other resources

We also provide educational Know-Your-Rights workshops and create resources for schools, churches, labor organizations, and community centers. We believe that knowledge that pertains to immigrant and constitutional rights and responsibilities should be readily accessible to all. Therefore, we travel and bring legal services and resources to you.

What We Do

Affordable Immigration Services

We believe that high-quality legal services should not only be available to those who can afford to pay hefty rates. This is why we offer immigration services at a low cost, taking into account your individual needs and circumstances. We also offer other civil services, such as assistance with labor or family law matters.

Know-Your-Rights Workshops

We offer Know-Your-Rights workshops at schools, libraries, churches, labor unions, and other agencies. We want to ensure that noncitizens are well-informed about their rights, and we believe that this information should be easily accessible to all. This is why we are happy to bring educational resources and presentations to your community.

Citizenship Classes

Citizenship classes and test preparation are available one-on-one as well as in a group setting. We specialize in assisting individuals who speak English as a second language, so we understand the challenges of taking the test in a foreign language. Just send us a message to book your class!

Trainings

We offer training to employers, union personnel, as well as other community centers who may be interested and work with noncitizens, to ensure compliance with immigration laws and inform your staff about current practices. Reach out for more information!

Our Story

When the LIJI volunteer team members met a few years ago, they realized that they had the same ideology and approach to legal services and community engagement.

1.

We wish to give the same level of care and attention to each community member when working on their case.

2.

We believe that we make a difference by working with one family at a time; and, together, we create a domino effect that leads to systemic and positive social change.

3.

We also understand the challenges and struggles immigrants go through because we too went through it and came out stronger.

After gaining experience and expertise in this field, we have now decided to pay it forward, and provide our community with the support that perhaps we did not have. We also strive to meet you where you are, so we try to be as mobile as possible and bring the services to you.
